How to Reduce Acne Scars
Okay so right off the bat here, i am happily overwhelmed with information on this subject! My heart goes out to all those recovering from or currently dealing with the effects of any type of acne! Whether you are scaring from mistreatment of breakouts or scaring from the natural effects of acne as a long term skin condition, there are so many natural solutions! (which is proven the best approach).
This is always a great testimony to the Great Designer of our world and everything in it! It’s so amazing to see how herbs, flowers, vegetables, fruits, and plants can help sustain our bodies in so many ways!
Well, lets get going!!
Vitamin E!!! This natural resource can be found at your local natural food or regular drug store and easily applied in many ways…..
1. Apply Oil Directly You can apply a vitamin E oil directly to your scars at nighttime and work it into your skin just as you would a moisturizer.
2. Lotion Form -Vitamin E also comes in lotion form as well.
(Remember to avoid lotions with mineral oil as it has been know to clog pores, thereby causing more breakouts).
3. Vitamin E Capsules -Another option is to simply take a capsule and crack it open or pierce it with a needle. Apply the liquid contents directly onto your face or any other acne scars. (using capsules secludes the oil and preserves the effectiveness and longevity of the product).

Vitamin E is a wonder-worker, but for myself, I usually refrain from putting it directly on my skin, since I break out terribly for some reason.
What I do use once and a while as a moisturizer is raw shea butter, infused with vitamin E, frankincense, myrrh. Wonderful stuff.

ooo, Myrrh sounds fantastic.

Can this also work for any other scars not on the face? Like on legs, for instance?

myrrh? were do you get it?
this sounds great, I am so sick of scars, especially on my nose, I can make it look good with makeup but I want my skin to really be good with or without it.

Can taking vitamin E help at all?

Christa & Beatrice: It is fantastic - not only because of the smell, but because it moisturizes rapidly (I have THE worst dry cuticles that I have tried to cure for years, and the shea butter moisturized them in one night).
Beatrice, the manufacturer is Nubian Heritage (http://www.nubianheritage.com), and you can find it here in the “Infused Shea” section of their store: http://www.nubianheritage.com/products/typeid/24/infused-shea-butter#
I have not tried out any of their other shea butters, but they all look wonderful. Oh, you might be able to find it at a Whole Foods store, if you happen to live near one.

Oh! I forgot to mention that the reason why I use the Frankincense & Myrrh shea butter in particular is because it is made with raw shea butter. It appears that all of the other “Infused Shea” products have been refined…which is absolutely fine to use, I just prefer to use the hardcore stuff when it comes to my fickle skin.
Incidentally, shea butter may feel greasy at first, but it eventually absorbs into the skin leaving no sticky feeling whatsoever.

Vitamin E has been a favorite in our family for a while. As a child, I had a huge ugly wart on my hand that had to be taken off and ended up with quite a large scar. My parents used vitamin E, and even our absolutely-non-natural doctor was impressed!
Thanks Maresah!

I have acne and usually get it on my chin, shoulders, and back. It’s horrible! I have enjoyed reading your posts, Maresah, and am in the midst of using Vitamin E capsules (breaking them open and putting the vitamin directly on the spot. Right now, I am trying it just on my chin to see if it does anything for me)
Thank you so very much for the helpful posts!
