Summer Makeup look #5: Rose & gold
I love, love, love gold shimmer eyeshadow. Nothing says summer vacation as does that warm goodness on the eyes.
But gold paired with rose lips is better yet. A very natural look it can be dressed up or down to suit the occasion.
How to:
1. Prep your skin with moisturizer and blot of excess
2. Apply concealer to red spots and a light foundation
3. Groom brows
4. Base in your eyes with a soft off-white eyeshadow, blending to the brows and the outer corner of the eye.
5. With a medium brush wash the lids in a gold shimmer powder eyeshadow. To foil the lids, dampen brush, then apply.
6. Line lips with light flesh lip pencil and fill in with strawberry colored lipstick or balm. Concentrate color in the middle of the mouth and blend outwards for the most natural effect.
7. Curl the lashes and apply a generous coat of black or dark brown mascara.
8. With the fingertips, dab a touch of soft pink creme blush onto the cheeks, chin, temples, and forehead and blend very well.

Hey Christa! I was just wondering if you could give us some tips on how to “groom our brows”. I’ve been thinking about doing it for some time, but I don’t want to over-do it, and would really appreciate any advice you could give! Thanks for all the great make-up tips!

I second that, Grace… I was “blessed” with my father’s eyebrows. They look great on him, but on me… not so great.

I’m loving these makeup tips! And yes, I second the eyebrows discussion. : ) I have *very* thick and long eyebrows!
Kind of an unrelated question–but I’m wondering if you have any tips for modest cute swimwear?? I love your swimsuit but I’m pretty small so I don’t know if it would fit me or not. There are some modest options that I’ve found, but most are so ultra-modest that they aren’t really cute or sort of look prudish. That’s why I really like yours!! But I guess anything that I can find that’s not revealing, two-piece, on and on…that I’l have to be content!
