Summer makeup look #4: Mauve & Plum
With a bit of that summer sun, this mauve look reminds me of a fairy and will carry right into fall. The purples are really a beautiful color on many skin tones all across the spectrum, that’s probably why they are a favorite of so many makeup artists.
How to:
1. Prep your skin with moisturizer and blot of excess
2. Apply concealer to red spots and a light foundation
3. Groom brows
4. Base in your eyes with a soft off-white eyeshadow, blending to the brows and the outer corner of the eye.
5. With a small eyeshadow brush wash the purple shadow across the lids, darkening slightly in the crease, softly under the eye and all along the lashline. . For further depth, bring in a dark brown eyeshadow to the crease and blend to the outer corner.
6. Over the top of the eyeshadow, with a medium brush wash white or champagne shimmer powder eyeshadow and blend well. Also be sure to add a dab and balned a touch to the inside corner of the eyes.
7. Curl the lashes and apply a generous coat of black or dark brown mascara.
8. With the fingertips, dab a touch of soft pink creme blush onto the cheeks, chin, temples, and forehead and blend very well.
9. Line the lips with a light lesh lip pencil and fill in with with rose creme lipstick.

Any tips on how to find the right purple for each skin tone?

I wish there was a fail proof method. But generally, trial and error is the best method.
For Warm skin tones: opt for the warmer plums– those with more red or copper in them
For Cool Tones: Opt for cooler tones, leaning more towards blue purples, or ice purples.
