Fall Makeup- Look #3 Lips
Not so ordinary lips this fall, no ma’am. We see statement lips all over the place. I have focused one lip that is very vogue without teetering towards the extreme “black” lipstick seen on the runways.
Burgundy Lips
That Vintage Wine gets a modern update when paired with fresh skin and a touch of blush. No mascara required
How to do it:
-Don’t use liner for this lip, it can appear too harsh. Gently apply color in short strokes along your natural lip line.
-Keep your skin fresh, apply concealer and light powder only where needed.
-Swirl on light rosy blush
-Final trick: skip the mascara. Curl your lashes but refrain the mascara to keep the look youthful.

No mascara eh? Can’t say I’m sad to see this go… Not a good mix when you wear contacts.

yeah, I rarely wear mascara either due to shedding issues. I love bold lips. However, it’s important to keep in mind that as they are dramatic, and attention stealing, it’s a good idea to keep the rest of your makeup, jewelry, and outfit toned down and simple, otherwis you look like a tasteless, unharmonious “too much”, overdone mess.

For those wondering what happened to look #2 - it was actually vetoed as bordering on too seductive.
Yes, we do have a group of gals who pre-reads the posts

This look sounds very pretty and becoming…
btw, Christa, will you be having a fall line besides the weave dress? If you are, when will it be released? I was planning on buying the cafe bubble skirt but wanted to wait and see if there was anything else I wanted to add to the order- that is, if your fall line showed up.
Thanks so much!

Hi Kelly!
To be perfectly honest, our fall line is smaller this year due to “tightening the belt” on several different fronts. We have several dresses in the manufacturing process but they won’t be released till early December (just in time for Christmas).
Hope that answers your question!
as ever,
Christa

I’m sorry this is such a later reply:(
But I was wondering how dark is too dark of a red lipstick? I bought a pretty dark red wine color, and I’m wondering if its too much, is there some test I can use so I don’t make the mistake of wearing a lipstick that’s too dark?

When is dark too dark?
Put it on, does your skin look washed out? (you don’t want to mimic the goth look unintentionally)
When your wearing it does all the attention go right to your lips or is the intensity balanced out by another dark color in your outfit? Dark lips with a light outfit looks off-balance.
