Pretty Pendants
They’re long, they’re layered, they’re large or small and they’re absolutely smashing.
Pendants have made a strong appearance all over the place and can be such a feminine piece. (how many guys have you seen sporting an extra long pendant?)
-Do:
-go vintage shopping and find an inexpensive locket
-use a small pocket watch on a long chain for a pendant
-slip on a special ring or other memento
- layer a 2 or more of different lengths at the same time
-Use a ribbon instead of a chain, opt for a sheerer ribbon that’s easy to tie.
-Have fun!
Don’t:
-wear something ultra glittery unless you are going for a special night out. This is a more metallic, vintage look

I am a student at a private Christian school with a dress code requiring that we wear polo shirts. I try to mix things up so I don’t look the same as everyone else–I do skirts sometimes and I try to accessorize. Do you have any tips on wearing hair ribbons?
If I were to wear a pendant with my polo shirt, would I place the chain outside my collar or around my neck?
Do you have any other ideas on how to keep looking original and unique?
Thank you,
Julia

Greetings Julia!
If you are wearing polo shirts- consider yourself lucky! They pair so well with blazers of all kinds, and are the epitome of collegiate style.
Here’s a fun way to do a quick and easy updo using ribbon (I tried it on my sister Kelly last night and it was gorgeous)

When wearing one or more pendants put them around your neck or around your collar. It depends on the length of the pendant. Just avoid the bunched around the collar look and you’ll be fine.
There is so much you can do with that “Oxford” look, can you wear vests?
Boots, or Oxford pumps would be fun to accessorize with as well. Headbands are a nice addition, belts of any kind, a layered scarf…endless possibilities.
