I have a long, thin face with a high forehead. My current hairstyle is something like a “bob”, only not quite as harsh. I have naturally “messy” hair, it’s not curly or straight, and I have tried a perm before, but it came out within a week! I was wondering, what sort of hair style should I try? Long hair makes me look like I have dog ears, even when I part it to the side! Please help me!!
Hey Girl! I am 14 and love reading your blog! I have an email I send out about fashion, and mention you frequently! I would really enjoy a article on Layering and more on hairstyles, for long hair! And I mean REALLY long hair! I have hair down to my hips and I would like some more ideas on how to make it look good.
Thanks for taking the time to listen to your readers!
I would like to see you write more personal stuff about you and your business. Introduce us to some of your models, your inspirations, etc. http://www.freepeople.com has an awesome blog.
I would love to see some tips on hairstyles. Particularly for long hair. I have very long, slightly wavy blond hair that comes down a good bit past my waist. It’s not too thick, rather fine actually. Anyway, I’m always on the lookout for things to do with it!
By the way, thanks for the “tall figure” tips, I also found those useful, since I’m 5′9″.
Blessings,
Julia
Christa,
I have straight, shoulder length hair. And I was wondering if you had any ideas of hair styles, that would work for my hair and other’s like mine.
Glad you asked! What I want is for you to offer (not just blog about) modest maternity clothes (and post-maternity wear). I don’t think I’m the only one on the planet not wanting the “sexy mama” label. As you well know, your breasts grow lots during pregnancy and lactation, so I found that even things that were modest before were bringing undue attention to my bosom.
Also–I love dresses and would love to see some breastfeeding-friendly dresses out there that are, again, modest. Don’t want to advertise that the buffet is open, if you get my drift.
Can you talk about the special challenges to new mommy bodies?
Looking forward to it.
I like all of your topics so far, great selection!!!
Annie’s topic sounds interesting
This what I’m struggling with:
How to complement even when it’s not your style, color… or even inmodest? Is it good to complemente how somebody is looking?(or do we put to much emphasis on outside “value” than on the “real” person inside?)
Why are christian making fun of other christian, who are modest? And how to handle this pressure?
Thank you every much for your great work you started!!!
What do you think about skulls, unicorns, dragons… on (children-) clothes?
Do you think sympols have an influnce on the wearer? And how about slogans or an allover print you can’t read?
Your blog is really helpful! I have a round face and I’m afraid a hairstyle any shorter that my chin might make it appear more round. I enjoy having long hair, but I have really thin, fine hair, so I feel stuck sometimes like there are only so many hairstyles (laying) I can do. Any ideas? I like Talitha’s question, also.
I would be interested in fashion tips for men. My husband hates buying clothes, so I choose everything for him. I am always interested in budget-friendly fashion advice. And what is the best way to get a nice-looking, at-home french manicure?
Back in January you wrote a series of three articles titled “Make me Beautiful”. At the end of the third one you wrote ‘To be continued’ but you didn’t continue it. Did I miss something? Was that a typo? If not, I’d like to see part four! Your blog is great. I ordered the puff street bomber and I am very happy with it. It fits wonderfully!
-Miss S.
I enjoy your blog so much! Would you consider giving us some tips on how to behave like a lady (a Christian one, of course)?
Also, do you have any ideas on what would best constitute a young adult look? I am 22, but most people think I am 17 or 18. I am going to be student teaching this fall and really don’t want my high school students to think that! I’ve been told I have a really young face, but is there anything specific I can do clothing-wise or hairstyle-wise to look more adult? Thanks!
I would really like some more posts on skin color (the winter, autumn, summer spring stuff).
Also, in the store part of your website, it would be really helpful if you would state what other clothing the models are wearing that is or is not Christa Taylor. I just find it a little confusing in spots.
I love your products (and can’t wait until I’ve saved up enough money to buy some for myself!) and blog! Thank you so much for all you’re doing!
How to dress on a tight budget…essential wardrobe pieces? I really liked the posts on color. Perhaps you could do a series about different articles of clothing and ways to wear/combine them, etc.
+eye make up how-to
+tips for layering clothes (colors, patterns, etc), especially for the in-between seasons
+incorporating trends, stretching uses of one key piece
+teacher wardrobe, dressing professionally when you look young
+creative uses of unexpected clothing items
I have super-thick hair with a little wave in the back. I really want to cut it short - like a bob - but I can’t find a style that won’t make my round face look even rounder. The other issue is that I don’t want to have to mess with it in order to wear it out i.e. no hair spray, mousse, hair dryers, etc. Do you have any tips?
I also agree with Julia - what are some great relatively inexpensive clothing staples? I struggle with always having to be “in”, but the styles never last too long. I figure that the classics will last.
Thanks for all your advice so far, I’ve really been able to use a lot of it!
Christa,
You have an amazing sense of fashion and style I greatly look up to you for I aspire to be a fashion designer one day. But right now I’m twelve and am having trouble finding cute modest clothes I wonder if you would consider starting a line of clothing for pre teen and young teen girls. If that is not possible i wonder if you know of any designers who do have a line of clothing like that. Thanks
I have just entered into the real world of working at an office everyday 9-5. It has been a real struggle to dress more professional and still feel my age, only 25. Any tips on this would be most helpful!
Hi! I know I already posted but I’ve come up with some more things for you to write about! Have girls send pictures in of how they layer. You know like different shirts. You could sensor them to make sure there is no inapproprite images. Anyway just some ideas from my brain! Thanks for spending the time to listen to us!
I’m a longtime lurker but I love (love!) your blog & the message you spread here
I really want you to write about…
1) how to find our own personal style (like dramatic vs. sporty vs. romantic)
2) how to find a modern, flattering watch (that’s relatively inexpensive)
3) how to change your outfit with different purses
Hey I know I already left a comment.
But I just wanted to let you know what I meant by preteen and young teen clothing. because at this age I’m between childrens and juniors clothing so therefore nothing fits quite right. So I’m just asking if anyone makes clothes for the girls in the in between stages. Thanks again!
I really enjoyed your posts on the colors that were in for the season. I’d like to see a similar thing done for autumn when it comes. Those were fun:).
Would this dress be appropriate for an upcoming wedding? I don’t want anything that is too loud or ‘out shines’ the bride. Want do you think? Any different ideas?
–I enjoy your posts on fitting to different body types for dresses, necklines, etc. However, I’m not very visual, so more photos would be helpful.
–I’m short (5′0) which makes finding pants difficult. I enjoy dressing feminine and I don’t differ with my mom on modesty very much. But one thing we always but heads on is pants. I usually think I could wear them a little tighter than she does. So, I guess what I’m asking is: How do you find pants that are short enough, small enough (I’m a 4/6), modest and yet not baggy/old-lady looking?
–Ditto on Claire’s comment about dealing with a young face. I know we’ll appreciate it when we’re older, but I’m 17 and most folks think I’m 12 or 13. Should I just get over it, or is there something I could do?
–Ditto on Julia’s request for how to build a wardrobe on a budget.
Why do I look so young? Is it because of my face? Because of my clothes? Because of my figure? Or maybe it’s just because I homeschooled…a few of my homeschooled friends have the same problem. Makeup issues? I’m not going for wrinkles, but I’m 19 and don’t particularly appreciate being mistaken for a high school freshman.
By the way, I am really enjoying your blog! It’s fun and a huge blessing. Thanks!
Hi!
I know this is an older post, but I would like to request some info/ a post on everyday clothing, i.e. what to wear while cleaning, just out to the store, babysitting, etc. How stylish is too stylish for everyday wear? I very much enjoy your blog– that’s why I’m going through the archives!
Thanks so much and keep up the great kingdom building work!

Is there anything ’stylish’ to do with hair 3 inches above the knee, besides cut it?
