Real Style Secret
Ever wonder what to wear on those evenings when you need to look fabulous?
If we all had the same body type, the world would be really boring, and it’s important to know how to flatter each one! Here is a fun way to find the best dress for you.
You’ll find each body type named and defined with tips!
Straight - Little definition between bust, hips and waist. Love v-neck, baby doll or empire waist with A-line skirt or dropped waist.
Pear - Smaller bust, rounded hips and defined waist. Love open necklines, such as cowl, boat or square, with a full skirt. You can also go with major jewelry and scarves!
Hourglass - Bust and hips in equal proportions, with defined waist. Love wraps, adjustable waists and pencil skirts.
Spoon - Full bust, small hips and waist. Love squared necklines, waist belts and flare at the bottom, also, drapey or gathered dresses.
Apple - Full bust, narrow hips and average waist. Love empire waist with full skirt. Flat fronts and side fastenings are your friends.
Happy Valentine’s Day from the Christa-Taylor team!

Thank you! I really needed this post. I’m have a hard time finding evening clothes that complement me because I’m an hourglass and 4′9″! I love the Cinderella poufy ball dress style. Is there any way I could wear a fluffy skirt and not look like a little girl playing dress up?

oh yes- just temper your girly “frills” with a sleek, more contemporary blouse, shoes and accessories. But don’t get extreme, at 4′9″ you don’t want to go overboard with the poof…your frame can get lost. Remember to define your waist, anything belted, or fitted at the waist is good.
Typically the “cinderella” style is the most flattering of the formals because of emphasizes your hourglass.

BTW-i love the houndstooth coat you sell and I bought. I wear it all the time and get so many compliments. I send them all to your website!

I was wondering if you had any more tips for apple shapes. I looked up the type of dresses for an apple figure and they looked so pretty. Thank you! Anything else I could try?

Ironing Tip - I turn pleated items inside out before I iron them. Then I fold and line up the pleat top and bottom before I run the iron over the it.
Hope that is clear
