As described by Jocelyn, our Administrator of Photography.

MISS POSH
Always dressed nicely, always put together. Ladylike. Proper. Would not go any place without her lip gloss. Loves nice fabrics and detailed clothing, and will always make an outfit that much better with the perfect accessorizing. She often has hair up and smooth, a big fan of Audrey Hepburn. Posh and perfect..

MISS SPORTY
Fun, adventurous, active, surfer girl look. Bring it on. Would go without makeup to a gathering. She’s the type who goes sky-diving, and loves adrenaline sports. Hangs out with the boys but has a feminine appeal in her cute, pony-tail or bun. Knows she is a girl and loves it.

MISS TRENDY

Miss Trendy loves style and trying new things. She’s willing to take risks. Her favorite outfits mix and match textures and colors. Hats, Sunglasses, handbag, shoes, different shades for her make up, and will do her hair to match her little miss trendy outfit.

Christa Taylor Grand Opening Presents Modesty in a Whole New Light

Spring Collection Provides Young Women with “Modish” Options

Vancouver, WA—Christa Taylor, a new clothing company, has made its message clear. As the visionary designer herself explains: “We are fashions for the Empowered Traditionalist. An Empowered Traditionalist, or ‘ET’, loves her clothes and believes modesty can be stylish and attractive.” Christa Taylor’s Spring Collection seems to prove just that.

The company’s dream grew out of a infuriating, yet all too common experience. As a young lady, Taylor encountered weeks of frustrating shopping trips- trying to find something modest and attractive. Finding a modest bathing suit became a long and arduous affair, searching websites and retail stores to no avail. So she went to the drawing board and designed a new swimsuit that satisfied her desire for modesty and style (she calls it “modish:” a blend of modest + “chic”).

Updated frequently, her website (www.christa-taylor.com) demonstrates careful thought, and genuine care for her customers. “Expect new styles, ideas, and superior quality” Taylor affirms, “I am all about creating clothes that flatter real girls, satisfying their needs and building a trust relationship.”

The Christa Taylor team believes no business should exist just to make money. In the midst of an individualistic culture focused primarily on success, power and prestige, they are committed to a greater vision; a vision that presses beyond the tendencies towards self-absorption. With this in mind, and always aware of their own need, they have resolved to contribute at least 30% of their profits to the world’s poor and toward furthering social justice around the globe. Their first project is already under way.

Spring Fashions 2007- What should I wear??

Wear Dresses
Girls we can finally break out the dresses! It’s time to fall in love, crazy, heads over heel in love with dresses. Find the accents or fabrics that create a feminine look. Look for higher waistbands, sashes, and belts in contrasting colors.
Many of the dresses will be embellished and jewel studded. But then again- where to find cute modest dresses? While most of the dresses lean toward the shorter side, I’ve found that a shorter dress (brushing the knee) paired with leggings can be darling, and modest simultaneously. Nautical
Set sail in something Chic…nautical inspired classics are everywhere. Red, white and blue mixed and matched in abundance. Try a simple version of the sailor girl, with a dark denim jacket, white Bermudas and lipstick red Ballet flats. Or add a stand-outish white belt to a red/white striped tunic.

Metallic is IN
While I’m not a personal fan of metallic golds or silvers, they play a heavy part in Springs color palette. You’ll see a lot of glimmer, shine, gleam and glisten in the coat fabrics, and embellishments. Gold brocade cropped jackets are popular and a great piece to wear to a wedding.
If you, like me, aren’t crazy about all the bling-bling -go Grecian, try a very simple color palette of cool neutrals and pair it with silver or gold jewelry, bags and sandals. But keep in mind, Grecian is pretty simple -keep the accessories to a minimum.

Romantic accents
Spring is the perfect season to add a feminine accents like lace, ruffles, sashes and pearls. Tie a silk patterned head-scarf into your hair, wear a few soft layers, or delicate fabrics and prints. Full length flowy dresses or short billowy tunics all add romance and charm.

Sporty

Break out the hoodies, bermudas and zippers. Combine jersey with poplin and cottons for a slouchy chic look. Very relaxed, kinda like what I wear around the house normally. =)

80s anyone?
Yes, the maxim is true: “there is nothing new under the sun”. The punchy brights of the 80s are back in full force, with retro glamour galore. It’s a power look that needs a lot of confidence but can be used to bring variety. Bring in some tart candy colors in a graceful way with a bright handbag, top or shoes.
